8/16/09 NSCA Shoot

Tropical Storm Claudette spinning Northward out in the Gulf seemed to pull the moisture out of the air and made the felt temperature at shoot time on Sunday very enjoyable. Steve Nelson turned in a rock solid 95 for HOA and Paul DeVane was just a few birds off the win with a score of 90 for RU.  Great shooting guys. The Club house was packed with youngsters taking day 2 of the Hunter Safety Course which is offered by Sarasota County and the State of Florida on a regular basis. It was great to see so many young boys and girls demonstrating an interest in the shooting sports and in becoming educated and ethical users of the outdoors.  This Hunter Safety class crowded our lunch out onto the shaded porch under ceiling fans which was still very pleasant at mid day and which featured Elizabeth's home made pear tart, with pear brandy whipped cream.

 

Thanks to all the shooters. We appreciate your attendance at the shoots and look forward to seeing you all at the Fall Open on Sunday, September 20th.
